G17S… only 20 GModel 17’s were ever made. 19 of them actually came out of the factory and the 20th one was assembled from left over parts in Texas. This is Serial Number B-19, the last G-17 to leave the Beechcraft factory in 1949, the last of the US Bi-Plane era- this plane is an icon! It will be heading to its new home soon.

Cockpit of a Curtiss Robin. Wrongway Corrigan crossed the Atlantic in a highly modified Robin.
The cockpit in a standard Robin is very close to what Lindbergh had in the Spirit of St Louis.

When I was a kid an going to the Pails Valley Oklahoma Fly-in one of these would always show up and is was a show stopper. Originally I thought it was a pieced together contraption but eventually I learned it was a Australian crop duster that had a lot of engineering and thought put into the design.

I also saw one used in one of the later Mad Max movies. This is a cool formation photo.
